Perception & Interpretation

This class focused on the reality and importance of perception and interpretation as the basis for all stress.

Included in this discussion was an emphasis on choice and the ability to think of things differently.

Events don’t lead to stress. It is always our thoughts about the events, and how we interpret the events,
that activate the stress response.

As people we think of scenarios negatively, where if we were to think of a positive one in the future we would not be stressed out because we would have it in our heads that we are going to be okay and everything will turn out fine. Stress is all about how we perceive the situation.
